I have to admit that I am good at many things, but picking out a gift is just not one of them. Even though I try to pay attention to what people are saying, I just can’t seem to get it right.
There are many classic examples of this, from the cans of beans that I bought my mother, to the khaki green dress I bought my wife. Though I had the best intentions in mind, I just didn’t quite get it I guess.
So, instead of trying to come up with another gift idea, I have decided that I would see if I could find a book that had gift giving ideas for me. That way, I would be able to get something that people would appreciate and not hate, which is what I would like to do anyway.
I haven’t found an appropriate book yet, but I know that there must be something out there for people like me. I won’t give up until I have found one, and hopefully people will appreciate the gifts that I give out after that point.

Whether you’re looking for wedding bands, rings in diamond clusters, or simply engagement rings, the process of finding the best product for the best price is not much different from finding the best auto insurance product or the best cut of steak. You have to shop around until you find a dealer you can trust.
There’s no doubt that diamonds are big business. Even lower end mass market department stores are in the jewelry business. But when it comes to buying diamond jewelry, the first thing to remember is caveat emptor — buyer beware. The second thing is that tried and true phrase, "You get what you pay for."
Educate yourself on the differences in diamonds. The Internet is an excellent place to learn about colors of diamonds, clarity, the importance of facets, the best type of setting to show off the various cuts and shapes. All diamonds are not created equal. Buyer beware.

I have this "thing" about chlorinated water. Whether it’s needing to rinse it off myself after swimming or being forced to drink it, I am not fond of either the smell in my hair or the taste in my mouth. When I want to smell bleach, it had better be in my washing machine with white clothes only! I’m one of those people who order water with lemon at a restaurant.
I remember when our village water didn’t need chlorination. Now some days, I turn on the tap and the smell of bleach is almost overwhelming. It makes me want to boil my water before using it to cook, even.
That’s when I started researching the cost of a commercial water filtration system. And once we had it installed, I’ve never looked back. I love the convenience, the peace of mind, and especially I love the fact that I never have to taste chlorine again.
