Getting a Birthday Present for my Cousin

May 5th, 2008

My family is rather large and there is not really many members of my extended family that I would consider buying birthday gifts for.  Honestly, I don’t make enough money to buy everyone a present.

But I am close to my one cousin, Jessica.  She is big into Magick Spells & Rituals, so I thought that I would try an buy her something that she would use.  My problem was going to be that I had no idea as to where I should shop, or what I should buy her.

I did a search online for "Amulets & Charms" and found a few websites that sold what I was looking for.

Checking out these websites was an experience.  Since I didn’t know what I was looking at, I wasn’t sure which Magick Talismans I should buy.  In the end, I picked one that sounded good and I hope she likes it.  If not, they have a good return policy!

Getting Ready for Bed

May 4th, 2008

It feels so nice when the day is over and it is time for bed.  Now, most people might complain that bedtime is not one of their highlights of their life, and honestly, I used to be like that as well.

But a couple of months ago, a friend of mine and I were having lunch discussing our life problems when I mentioned that I had problems sleeping because my wife snored.  Now, he had a little chuckle but then he offered me a solution: a white noise generator.

As he explained that the generator would ensure that I wouldn’t hear my wife snoring, the grin on my face became larger.  I thought to myself that it was the perfect product and that I surely needed one.

Needless to say, months later, I am so very happy with my purchase.  In fact, I have not had so many great nights of sleep during our whole marriage, and I feel like I should have made the purchase years ago.

Owning a Business can be a Headache

May 4th, 2008

Sometimes I wonder if I had made the right choice when I bought the confectionary down the street.  On paper, it was definitely a good investment with a high return on investment, so that is why I jumped in.

But in real life, it turned out to be a bit of a headache.  From staffing problems, to my inability of finding a manager, I have spent more time at the store than I would care to admit.  Sure, it makes money, but sometimes I wonder what I have got myself into.

A good example would be the phone call that I received this morning telling me that the credit card processing machine was down.  Great - so much for sleeping in.

But it is these little things that add up to one big annoyance.  Sure, I love the fact that I make more than my old nine to five job, but sometimes the responsibilities that I have to take on are more like a headache.
